Nationality/ Citizenship

IBPS SO 2026 Experience Criteria
While many IBPS SO roles do not require prior work experience, candidates must strictly adhere to the educational, age, and nationality criteria. Guidelines for EWS (Economically Weaker Section)
- Persons who are not covered under the existing scheme of reservations to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, and the Other Backwards Classes and whose family has a gross annual income below Rs.8.00 lakh (Rupees eight lakh only) are to be identified as EWSs for benefit of reservation. The income shall include income from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc. and it will be income for the financial year prior to the year of application.
- Those who have any of the following assets will be excluded from getting the benefit of EWS category reservation.
- 5 acres of Agricultural Land and above
- Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above
- Residential plots of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities
- Residential plots of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities.
For EWS status verification, property held by a family across multiple locations is aggregated. The EWS reservation benefit is granted only upon the submission of a valid Income and Asset Certificate issued by the designated Competent Authority, in accordance with Government of India standards.
The definition of “Family” for EWS eligibility includes the candidate, their parents, siblings under 18, as well as their spouse and children under 18. Applicants must comply with all current Government of India guidelines regarding these declarations.
