KSET Paper I Syllabus

Karnataka SET Qualifying Marks
The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) is the gateway for candidates seeking Assistant Professor positions in colleges and universities across the state. Refer to the table below for the category-wise qualifying marks for both papers.
- For General Category Candidates: Candidates belonging to the General category need to secure at least 40% aggregate marks in the K SET exam.
- For Reserved Category Candidates: Candidates from the reserved categories i.e., SC/ST/OBC /PWD, need to secure at least 35% aggregate marks to qualify for K SET.
KSET syllabus
The KSET Paper 1 syllabus encompasses 10 units: Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, Communication, Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, ICT, People and Environment, and Higher Education Systems (including Polity and Administration). This paper consists of 50 compulsory questions worth 100 marks.
KSET Paper 2 is a two-hour examination worth 200 marks, focusing on your chosen specialization. With 41 subjects available, including Commerce, Kannada, Economics, English, and Political Science, candidates must ensure their preparation aligns with the specific depth required for their chosen discipline.
