EMRS Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates are strongly advised to verify their eligibility against the EMRS Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2025 before proceeding with the application. Principal
  • Master’s degree from a recognized university/institute, and
  • B.Ed or equivalent degree from a recognized University, and
  • Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium, and
  • Persons working in any of the Government departments. / Semi-Govt./Govt. recognized / CBSE-affiliated Sr. Secondary (10+2) schools / Inter College.
    • Holding an analogous post, or
    • Ten years of experience in teaching (Vice Principal / PGT / TGT) in a recognized high school/ Higher secondary school / Senior Secondary School/Intermediate college
PGT
  • Two Years Integrated Post Graduate Course from the Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

OR

  • Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the following subjects:
    • PGT (English)- English literature
    • PGT (Hindi) – Hindi or Sanskrit with Hindi as one of the subjects at the Graduate level.
    • PGT (Mathematics)-Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics
    • d. PGT (Physics)–Physics / Applied Physics/ Nuclear Physics.
    • PGT (Chemistry) Chemistry/ Bio. Chemistry.
    • PGT (Biology) – Botany/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/Bio Sciences/ Genetics/Microbiology/Bio-Technology/ Molecular Bio/Plant Physiology, provided they have studied Botany and Zoology at the Graduation level.
    • PGT (History) – History
    • PGT Geography-Geography
    • PGT (Commerce) – Master’s Degree in Commerce. However, holders of Degrees of M.Com degree in Applied/Business Economics shall not be eligible.
    • PGT (Economics) – Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics.
    • PGT Information Technology- B. Tech (Computer Science / IT) / Master’s Degree in Computer Application/Computer Science/Information Technology/M. Tech (Computer Application/Computer Science/Information Technology).

AND

  • B.Ed. or equivalent degree from a recognized University (Not applicable to PGT IT), and
  • Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.
TGT
  • A year’s integrated degree course of the Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject/combination of subjects and in aggregate.
    • For TGT (Hindi): Hindi as a subject in all three years.
    • For TGT (English): English as a subject in all three years.
    • For TGT (S.St): Any two of the following main subjects at graduation level: History, Geography, Economics, and Pol. Science of which one must be either History or Geography.
    • For TGT (Maths) –Mathematics as the main subject at graduation level with one of the following as a second subject: Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Economics, Commerce, and Statistics.
    • For TGT (Science)- Bachelor’s Degree in Science with any two of the following subjects: Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry

AND

  • B.Ed. or equivalent degree from a recognized University.
  • Pass in the State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper-II, conducted by CBSE in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose, and
  • Proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.

Important Pointers on EMRS Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2025

Follow the provided instructions carefully to ensure a clear understanding of the specific requirements stipulated in the EMRS Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2025.

  • The age limit for teaching posts will be declared in the new recruitment notification of EMRS.
  • Candidates applying for the position of TGTs must possess a valid STET/CTET-Paper-II certificate.
  • Applicants need to upload the necessary certificates, as applicable, along with the Application Form.
  • If a candidate is currently appearing or has appeared in an exam but is awaiting the final result, they should present the certificate/Scorecard during the interview.
  • If any of the following is detected at any stage of the recruitment process, including after recruitment or joining, the applicant will be disqualified, prosecuted, and barred from all appointments in EMRS under NESTS. Their application/appointment will be rejected immediately if they:
    • Provided incorrect information or submitted false documents.
    • Suppressed relevant information.
    • Engaged in unfair means during the Recruitment process.
    • Committed impersonation.
    • Created a disturbance affecting the smooth conduct of the computer-based test at the test center/venue.
    • Uploaded a non-human or irrelevant photograph.
  • If a candidate submits multiple/duplicate applications for the same post, only the latest application will be considered for further evaluation.

  • Resultant age after deducting his age does not exceed the prescribed age limit by more than three years and
  • condition prescribed in O.M. No. 39016/10/79- Esst.(C) dated 15.12.1979. Period of Military service plus
Upto 55 Years

EMRS Teacher Age Relaxation Policy

Read the following section thoroughly for additional critical guidelines regarding the EMRS Teacher age relaxation benefits and application stipulations.

  • The age of the candidate should not exceed more than 55 Years after considering all the relaxation/concessions in any given case.
  • The age relaxation for Ex-servicemen will be as per the Government of India Rules.
  • Ex-servicemen who have put in not less than six months continuous service in Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his/her actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than three years, he/she shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.
  • All the concessions mentioned above will be concurrent i.e., if a person is eligible for more than one concession, only one of the concessions of the highest permissible limit will be granted.
