Types of Exams Under the New Rules by MSESB

Under the new framework, the MPESB will conduct three distinct annual eligibility examinations tailored to specific job categories. Candidates are encouraged to register for the exam that aligns with their professional qualifications and targeted career path.

Exam Type For Posts
Combined Technical Eligibility Exam Technical subjects like Engineering, Law, Agriculture, etc.
Combined General Eligibility Exam General/clerical government posts
Teacher Eligibility Exam Primary, Middle, and Higher Secondary teachers

MPESB Score Card Validity and Key Rules

A significant shift in the 2026 recruitment policy is the introduction of a new scorecard validity system. Successful candidates will receive a scorecard upon qualifying for an exam, which serves as their primary credential for applying to various government vacancies. Key validity parameters are outlined below:

  • Technical and General Eligibility Exam score cards are valid from the result date till 31 December of the second calendar year
  • Example: If score card is issued on 10 July 2026, it stays valid till 31 December 2028
  • Teacher Eligibility Exam qualification is valid lifetime for working as a teacher in private schools
  • For government teacher appointments, the score card validity will follow the same 2-year rule
  • If a candidate has multiple valid score cards, they can use the best score to apply

How the Appointment Process Will Work in MP

All hiring will now be centralized through the new Appointment Portal (Niyukti Portal) managed by the MPESB. Departments will publish vacancies directly to this platform, allowing candidates to submit applications online using their valid scorecards, ensuring a more transparent and streamlined recruitment cycle.
Step-by-step process:

  • MPESB conducts the eligibility exam and issues score cards
  • Departments publish vacancies on the Appointment Portal
  • Candidates apply for vacancies using their valid score card
  • Merit list is prepared category-wise and reservation-wise
  • Document verification and medical check is done
  • Appointment order is issued by the concerned department

Merit Tie-Breaking Protocol:

Condition How It Is Resolved
Equal percentile score Higher rank in exam gets priority
Equal rank Older candidate (by date of birth) gets priority

MPESB: Important Rules for Candidates

To ensure a successful application, candidates must familiarize themselves with the revised standards regarding age requirements, eligibility, disqualification clauses, and restrictions on lateral job transitions. Reviewing these policies thoroughly is essential to prevent application rejection.

  • Age proof: Only the date of birth from Class 10 marksheet will be accepted. No affidavits or birth certificates allowed.
  • Minimum qualification must be completed before the last date of application
  • Government employees who have already joined a post can get only one more appointment through MPESB exams
  • After a second appointment, the candidate becomes permanently ineligible for further MPESB-based appointments
  • Candidates can be disqualified for: false information, impersonation, use of unfair means, forged documents, misbehavior in exam hall, or abnormal activity detected in post-exam data analysis
  • Minimum qualifying marks must be obtained- section-wise if the paper has multiple parts
