West Bengal State University (WBSU) Undergraduate Admission 2019

At the UG level, WBSU offers a few programs in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Education etc. All the Undergraduate courses take three years to complete the duration period except for the B.Ed. programme which is of two years.

A Student needs to pass 12th (10+2) in the relevant discipline to be considered eligible for admission.

Admission to the Undergraduate courses is done on the basis of merit in the last qualification.

West Bengal State University (WBSU) Postgraduate Admission 2019

The WB State University offers a wide number of PG courses in diversified specializations. The duration of the Postgraduate program in different courses are two years consisting of four semesters. The intake capacity differs for different specialization subjects.

In order to get admission in the Postgraduate program, Students need to hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum required marks.

Admission to the Postgraduate courses will be done through an Entrance Test organized by the university itself.

Selection will be made strictly in order of merit on the basis of percentage of marks for 60% of seats for WBSU Aspirants and rest 40% of seats on the basis of subject wise Entrance Test for Other University Aspirants and home university Aspirants including back years (Passed in 2015, 2016) Aspirants

Under the category of 40% of seats, the Aspirants will be admitted on the basis of an MCQ test on OMR sheet either with 50 questions each carrying 2 marks or adhering to the standardized format of MCQ test of the university, whichever is applicable; [negative marks & cut off marks will be applicable, if required

West Bengal State University (WBSU) Ph.D. Admission 2019

At the doctoral level, the university offers M.Phil / Ph.D. degree courses under various departments. The number of Aspirants to be admitted into the Ph.D. programme in a

subject or an interdisciplinary field will be decided by the respective Board of Research Studies.

To get admission in the doctoral program, Students need to hold a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (50% marks for the reserved category).

Admission to the M.Phil. / Ph.D. is through an entrance examination (RET) for each discipline followed by a viva-voce.

Students with NET/SET/GATE/M.Phil qualifications are exempted from the Admission Test

The university offers 5% marks relaxation in the eligibility criteria for the Students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories
