The RSSB has unveiled significant updates for the Rajasthan CET 2026, including the introduction of negative marking and a revised, more rigorous exam pattern. These strategic adjustments aim to enhance the integrity and competitiveness of the state's government recruitment process.
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has officially confirmed the implementation of negative marking for the Common Eligibility Test (CET). This significant shift in the examination structure impacts all candidates vying for state government positions. We strongly advise aspirants to thoroughly review these updated guidelines to adjust their study strategies accordingly.
Negative Marking Introduced In Rajasthan CET Exam
The Rajasthan CET Graduate Level Exam is slated for November 2026, followed by the Senior Secondary Level Exam in December 2026. With hundreds of thousands of aspirants participating, the updated exam pattern and the new negative marking policy are set to ensure a more merit-based selection process for upcoming government vacancies.
CET Negative marking & Passing Marks
- A Combined Eligibility Test (CET) will include 1/3 negative marking for every incorrect answer
- Candidates will be required to secure at least 40% marks to qualify the examination.
- The board aims to ensure that only around 3 to 4 lakh candidates qualify the examination. The CET examination is expected to be comparatively difficulty. To achieve this, negative marking will be implemented in the CET exam.
CET Validity Extended to 3 Years
Qualifying for the CET is a mandatory prerequisite for candidates seeking to apply for approximately 19 to 23 major state-level recruitment posts, including roles such as:
- Patwari, Village Development Officer (VDO)
- Junior Accountant,
- Lower Division Clerk
- Platoon Commander
- Hostel Superintendent,
- Police Constable.
In a welcome relief for applicants, the validity of the CET scorecard has been extended from one year to three years. This policy shift is expected to provide greater long-term opportunities for more than 20 lakh candidates across Rajasthan.
