The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially confirmed that guest teachers will receive priority in the TRE 4 recruitment drive. The forthcoming notification will outline essential details regarding vacancies, reservation policies, eligibility criteria, and the application process, providing significant clarity for thousands of applicants.
Guest Teachers Get Priority in BPSC TRE-4
The BPSC is preparing to release the official advertisement for TRE 4, reaffirming the policy to grant priority to guest teachers. Consistent with previous recruitment phases, candidates with prior experience as guest teachers in government schools will be eligible for weightage marks.
For every year of service, guest teachers will be awarded 2 bonus marks, capped at a maximum of 10 marks based on their total teaching experience. This policy significantly strengthens the competitive standing of experienced guest teachers in the final selection process.
The Bihar Education Department has formally communicated these provisions to the Bihar Lok Seva Aayog (BPSC), which will serve as the foundation for the upcoming recruitment notification.

Reserved Seats for Categories
The BPSC has received a formal request from the Education Department to categorize subject-wise vacancies according to the roster for the following special groups:
- Differently-abled candidates (Divyang)
- Relatives of freedom fighters (Swatantrata Senani)
- Women candidates
Bihar Lok Seva Aayog is currently in discussions with the Education Department to finalize subject-specific seat reservations. Candidates belonging to these categories are advised to await the release of the detailed seat matrix before the application portal opens.
Service Booklet Order for Appointed Teachers
The Patna District Education Office has issued a mandatory directive to principals of all government, project, and secondary/higher secondary schools. Teachers recruited via TRE 1 and TRE 2 must ensure their service booklets are officially opened and updated.
District Program Officer Dr. Mohammed Jamal Mustafa emphasized that since the probation period for TRE 1 and TRE 2 teachers is nearing completion, it is critical to reconcile all administrative records before the next recruitment cycle begins to prevent any procedural delays.
Points to be Recorded in the Service Booklet
All mandatory entries must be completed in the service booklet and submitted to the respective district office within a strict 15-day window.
The following details are mandatory to be recorded in service booklet:
- Leave records : including Leave Without Pay (LWP), study leave, long absence, childcare leave, maternity leave, and medical leave.
- e-Kosh and HRMS entries along with manual records, which are compulsory.
- Any disciplinary action or departmental proceedings against a teacher must also be noted in the service booklet.
The DPO has clarified that this documentation is essential for seamless salary processing, leave management, and other administrative procedures. Teachers are urged to complete these updates promptly to avoid disruptions.
BPSC TRE-4 Exam Date and Total Vacancies
BPSC has confirmed a total of 45,595 vacancies for TRE 4. The commission has proposed a tentative examination window from September 22 to 27.
