BPSC Exam Pattern 2026

The BPSC selection process consists of three rigorous stages: Preliminary (150 objective marks, qualifying), Mains (900 descriptive marks including General Hindi, General Studies papers, and an Optional subject), and the Interview (120 marks). The structured exam pattern is outlined below:

The Preliminary written examination follows an objective (MCQ) format. The paper consists of 150 questions worth 150 marks, with a total duration of 2 hours for candidates to complete the test.

BPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2026

The BPSC Mains examination features a mandatory qualifying paper in General Hindi. In addition, the syllabus includes two comprehensive General Studies papers: Paper I and Paper II.
