CDS 1 Exam 2026: Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CDS examination, candidates must satisfy stringent criteria regarding nationality, age, gender, marital status, and educational qualifications. Detailed eligibility requirements are outlined in the table below:

  • IMA & OTA- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.

  • Graduation with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level, or
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree.
Age Limit
  • IMA-Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2007.
  • INA-Same date range as IMA, unmarried males only.
  • Air Force Academy-Age between 20 to 24 years (born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2006).
Gender & Marital Status
  • IMA & INA : Only unmarried males.
  • AFA : Both married and unmarried males can apply (but marriage during training is not allowed).
  • OTA : Unmarried males and females.

CDS 1 Exam 2026: Selection Process
