GSET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before completing your application, ensure you thoroughly review the GSET 2026 eligibility criteria. Requirements are based on educational qualifications, candidate category, and domicile status. Notably, there is no upper age limit for GSET applicants. Detailed eligibility information follows below:

  • Candidates must have completed or be in the final year of a UGC-recognized Master’s degree in a GSET subject.
  • General/EWS candidates must have 55% marks, while SEBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender candidates need 50% marks.
  • Final-year PG students can apply provisionally, subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions after the result.
  • Candidates must appear in the same subject as their postgraduate degree.
  • Candidates who have already qualified GSET in the same subject are not eligible to reappear.
  • First-year Master’s students and fourth-year integrated Master’s students are not eligible.
  • Ph.D. holders who completed their Master’s by 19 September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks.

Step-by-Step Guide to Apply for GSET 2026

  • Pay the prescribed application fee online using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
  • After successful payment, note down the Order Number and Payment Reference ID (Easepay ID) and keep the payment receipt safely.
  • Log in to the candidate portal using the Order Number and Payment Reference ID.
  • Click on “Step 2 – Register Online for GSET” and fill in the online application form with the required personal, academic, and contact details.
  • Select the subject, exam centre, category, and other relevant information carefully.
  • Upload a recent passport-size photograph in JPEG format (maximum file size: 100 KB) as per the prescribed specifications.
  • Verify all the details entered in the application form before final submission, as no corrections will be allowed after submission.
  • Submit the application form and download or print the completed application form and fee payment receipt for future reference.
