IB Multi-Tasking Staff Selection Process 2026

Final selection is determined by a candidate's aggregate performance across the stages. While Tier 2 acts as a qualifying hurdle, the scores achieved in the Tier 1 objective exam are pivotal for determining your position on the final merit list.

1. Tier 1: Computer-Based Objective Examination

This primary assessment evaluates your proficiency in general knowledge, logical reasoning, numerical ability, and English language skills. Your performance in this tier is the primary driver for your final ranking.

2. Tier 2: Descriptive English Assessment

The Tier 2 exam evaluates your writing proficiency and command over English grammar through short compositions and functional tasks. While it is a qualifying exam, achieving the minimum score is mandatory for final consideration.

IB MTS Qualifying Marks 2026

To qualify for Tier 1, candidates must achieve the prescribed minimum marks out of the total 100-mark paper as follows:

  • UR: 30
  • OBC: 28
  • SC/ST: 25
  • EWS: 30

Tier 2 is strictly qualifying in nature. Candidates are required to secure at least 20 marks out of 50 to meet the eligibility standard.

Following the normalization of scores, candidates who meet the Tier 1 cutoff will be invited to appear for Tier 2, usually in a ratio of 10 times the number of available vacancies.

Resolution of Tie Cases

In the event of a tie—where multiple candidates achieve identical scores in Tier 1—selection priority is determined by the official tie-breaking policy implemented by the board.

  1. Older candidates will be given preference.
  2. If the tie remains, candidates will be ranked in alphabetical order of their first names.

To excel in the IB MTS Exam 2026, adopt a systematic preparation approach. Focus on balancing theoretical concepts, regular numerical practice, and refining your English writing skills to gain a competitive edge.
