Nationality Guidelines

To be eligible for the IBPS PO examination, the applicant must satisfy one of the following citizenship criteria:

1. A Citizen of India
2. The subject of Nepal or Bhutan
3. A Tibetan refugee who permanently settled in India before January 1, 1962
4. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zaire, or Zambia, intending to reside in India permanently.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university or an equivalent degree approved by the Government of India.

• Applicants must possess a valid mark sheet or degree certificate proving their graduate status on the day of registration and must provide the percentage of marks obtained in their graduation while registering for the IBPS Bank-PO exam.

Computer Proficiency Requirement:

Basic computer literacy is mandatory, both for effective performance on the job and for navigating the online IBPS PO examination platform.

Maximum Number of Attempts

There is no limit on the number of attempts for the IBPS PO examination. Candidates are eligible to appear for the exam as often as they wish, provided they remain within the specified age limit and meet all other educational criteria.

IBPS PO 2026 Selection Procedure

The comprehensive selection process comprises four stages: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, Personality Evaluation, and Interview. Candidates must successfully qualify at each stage to progress further.
