IBPS RRB 2026 Selection Procedure

The IBPS RRB Selection Process generally includes a Prelims and Mains stage. For the Officer Scale I position, the process concludes with an interview. Specialist Officer Grade-II and Officer Scale III roles involve a single-window examination followed by an interview. Candidates must qualify in each stage to be considered for final allotment.

The examination will be objective, and there is a negative marking penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

The Officer Scale 2 and 3 exams consist of a single online test followed by an interview. The exam difficulty for these positions is comparable to the IBPS RRB PO Mains exam.

Since 2024, IBPS has implemented sectional timing in the Prelims. The 45-minute total duration is now split into two dedicated sections of 25 and 20 minutes respectively.
