IBPS RRB 2026 Exam Pattern
Because the exam covers both Office Assistant (Clerk) and various Officer Scale positions, the assessment pattern varies by role.
The IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Clerk) selection process consists of only Prelims and Mains, with no interview stage. The final merit list is based exclusively on Mains examination scores.
For the IBPS RRB PO Exam, the process includes Prelims, Mains, and an Interview. The final merit is calculated based on performance in the Mains and the Interview. The Prelims paper is identical for both Office Assistant and PO candidates.
Please note that there is a negative marking penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer provided in the objective-style tests.
The IBPS RRB Officer Scale II and III exams consist of a single online test followed by an interview. The single exam level is comparable to the difficulty of the IBPS RRB PO Mains exam.
