KARTET Eligibility Criteria 2025

The KARTET 2025 eligibility criteria define the educational qualifications and minimum marks required for teaching positions in Karnataka. Only candidates meeting these requirements are permitted to register for Paper I or Paper II. Note that reserved category candidates receive specific mark relaxations in accordance with government mandates.

For Paper I (Teaching Classes 1-5):

  • Passed PUC or an equivalent exam with at least 50% marks and completed or currently pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Secured 50% marks in PUC or equivalent and completed or pursuing a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Obtained 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or equivalent) along with a 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
  • Graduates with a minimum of 50% marks who have completed or are pursuing D.El.Ed or B.Ed are also eligible.

For Paper II (Teaching Classes 6-8):

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and a D.El.Ed or B.Ed qualification.
  • Have Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed degree.
  • Possess a graduation degree with 50% marks and a B.Ed in Special Education.
