MPESB Exam Pattern Revised: 25 Marks for MP GK; Math & Reasoning Weightage Reduced
The Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (MPESB) is overhauling its recruitment exam structure. Upcoming assessments will feature 25 questions dedicated to MP GK, state polity, and welfare schemes, alongside a transition to three streamlined eligibility tests with scorecards valid for 2.5 years.
The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) is set to implement significant changes to its recruitment syllabus. Under the proposed Combined Recruitment Examination Rules, 2026, 25 marks will be allocated to Madhya Pradesh-specific General Knowledge, including state polity and government welfare schemes. Consequently, the weightage for Mathematics and Logical Reasoning is expected to be reduced in the new exam format.
MPESB Exam Pattern Changed: Key Highlights
With a heightened emphasis on regional knowledge, the MPESB aims to prioritize candidates who possess a deep understanding of the state's socio-political landscape, ensuring that local expertise remains central to the recruitment process.
Junior Services Combined Examination
- MPESB is planning changes to the recruitment examination pattern.
- Out of 100 questions, 25 questions will be based on Madhya Pradesh General Knowledge, Polity, and Government Schemes.
- The number of Mathematics and Reasoning questions will be reduced compared to the previous ones .
- A draft of the Combined Recruitment Examination Rules, 2026 has been prepared.
Technical and Engineering Examinations
The format for technical and engineering recruitment has also been restructured. These exams will now integrate core technical subjects with essential testing on General Knowledge, Computer Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of candidates.
Consolidation to Three Core Eligibility Examinations
To simplify the hiring process, the MPESB is phasing out its current system of 15 disparate recruitment exams. Instead, the board will conduct only three primary eligibility tests, with departmental recruitment finalized based on the scores achieved in these standardized assessments.
New Examination Categories
These three new eligibility tests are designed to streamline recruitment across all state departments, providing a more efficient path for job seekers.
- The combined general eligibility test will consists of 100 questions divided into four parts. These will include questions on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, GK of Madhya Pradesh , Polity and Government Schemes, Mathematics , Reasoning, Date analysis, Computer Knowledge and Language Skills
- The Combined Technical Eligibility Test will include 25 questions from Madhya Pradesh General Knowledge, Polity , 75 Questions from Technical Subjects Technical areas may include: Agriculture, Science, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electronics and other technical disciplines
- Teacher Eligibility Test will be conducted for the recruitment in school education department.
