NPSC CESE Faculty Eligibility Criteria

PGT (School Education) Post Graduate degree in the relevant subject with B.Ed. Minimum 50% marks (relaxable by 5% for ST/SC/PwBD).
Graduate Teacher (School Education) Graduate / Post Graduate with B.Ed. Minimum 50% marks (relaxable by 5% for ST/SC/PwBD).
Lecturer/RA/WET Post Graduate with 50% marks (relaxable by 5% for ST/SC).

NPSC CESE Faculty Age Limit and Relaxation

Age relaxations for the NPSC CESE faculty posts are provided in accordance with Nagaland State Government regulations. Please note that all age-related calculations are based on the reference date of 1st January 2026.

NPSC CESE Faculty Selection Process

The NPSC CESE 2026 selection process consists of a competitive written examination, followed by an evaluation based on academic weightage. Key stages of the recruitment journey are outlined below.

  • Written Examination – A competitive examination will be conducted for all eligible candidates. The exam is tentatively scheduled for 11th July 2026.
  • Academic Weightage (Score Sheet) – The Score Sheet for Academic weightage is available on the NPSC website under the Downloads Section.
  • Optional Papers – Candidates applying for CTE posts must appear in separate Optional Papers as per the pattern of examination.
  • Document Verification – Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce attested/self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents.
  • Final Merit List – The Commission will prepare the final merit list based on the combined performance in the written exam and academic weightage.

NPSC CESE Selection Criteria

Selection for these roles is strictly merit-based, following a standardized evaluation framework. Review the primary selection criteria and scoring methodology used by the Commission below.

  • Candidates must possess the requisite qualification from a recognized university or institution at the time of applying.
  • NET/SLET/SET qualification is mandatory for most Asst. Professor posts unless exempted by a valid Ph.D. degree (as per UGC 2009 regulations).
  • For posts where NET/SLET/SET accredited test is not conducted, the requirement is waived.
  • Reservation norms as notified by the Government of Nagaland will be followed for all posts.
  • PwBD reservations are in place for 3 Science Asst. Prof. posts and 2 Humanities & Commerce Asst. Prof. posts under Higher Education, plus additional PGT posts.The Commission’s decision on eligibility, conduct of examination, and selection will be final and binding.
