Educational Qualification
To be eligible, candidates must have successfully cleared the Matriculation Examination or an equivalent qualification on or before the application deadline of 20 November 2025.
Service Requirement
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category must have completed a minimum of 2 years of service in the Clerical Cadre as of 1 April 2026.
- Candidates belonging to other categories must have completed a minimum of 3 years of service in the Clerical Cadre as of 1 April 2026.
Priority Marks Requirement

PNB Promotion Exam 2025 Clerical To Scale I Selection Process
Punjab National Bank has implemented a streamlined and transparent selection framework for transitioning eligible Clerks and SCSAs to the JMG Scale I Officer cadre via the Selectivity Channel.
The final selection merit list for the promotion will be determined by calculating the aggregate score based on the three primary performance parameters outlined in the policy.

- Length of Service
Online Written Test (Maximum 100 Marks)
- The online written test will be objective-type and conducted through HRMS.
- The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English).
- The qualifying marks for the written test will be 30% for SC/ST candidates and 40% for other category candidates in each paper.
- The test will consist of two papers, each carrying 100 marks.
- SCSAs will be required to appear only for Paper I, provided they were posted as SCSAs on or before 20 November 2025 (the last date for application submission).
- Those posted as SCSA after 20 November 2025 must appear for both papers.

Service (Maximum 25 Marks)
- Candidates will earn 1 mark for each completed year of service up to 10 years, and 1.5 marks for every completed year beyond 10 years, subject to a maximum of 25 marks.
- Periods of leave without pay or unauthorized absence will be deducted from the total service length only when increments have also been deferred for such periods.
- Service marks will be computed up to the eligibility date, 1 April 2026.
