RRB NTPC Typing Test 2026

A Typing Skill Test (TST) is mandatory for specific roles, such as Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist. This test is strictly qualifying, and the results do not influence your final merit score.

  1. Candidates, equal to eight times the number of vacancies in each category, will be shortlisted for this test based on their 2nd Stage CBT scores.
  2. To qualify for the TST, candidates must type a minimum of 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer.
  3. For candidates opting to type in Hindi, Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be provided during the test.
  4. PwBD candidates who are permanently disabled due to blindness, low vision, cerebral palsy, or locomotor disability (with at least 40% disability) may be exempted from the TST.
  5. Only candidates who qualify in the TST (or are exempted) will be considered for the final merit list, which is based on their performance in the 2nd Stage CBT.

  • Candidates are advised to make a subject-wise strategy for both CBT 1 and CBT 2 exams. It will help in understanding their weakness and strengths first and then prepare accordingly.
    • For the Reasoning subject, prepare analogies, puzzles, coding-decoding, series, etc. (topics that have more weightage) first and then proceed to others.
    • For the Mathematics section, prepare your basics with Number systems, BODMAS, Tables, Simplification, LCM, HCF, etc. Learn new short tricks and formulas that will help in solving the questions in less time.
