RRB NTPC UG CBTST Exam Date 2026 Announced: Typing Test Set for 13th February
The Railway Recruitment Board officially announced the RRB NTPC UG CBTST 2026 schedule on January 29, 2026. Candidates who qualified for the CBT 2 stage can verify their Typing/Skill Test dates in this update.
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have issued an official notification regarding the Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) for CEN 06/2024 NTPC Undergraduate posts. The RRB NTPC UG CBTST is tentatively scheduled for 13th February 2026 for all candidates who successfully cleared the CBT 2 stage. RRB NTPC UG CBTST Dates 2026 Out
Following the recent declaration of the RRB NTPC CBT 2 Result 2025-26, shortlisted candidates must finalize their preparations for the upcoming Typing Skill Test. With the test confirmed for 13th February 2026, candidates can expect exam city details and SC/ST travel authorities to be released 10 days prior. Furthermore, the CBTST admit card will be available for download 4 days before the scheduled exam date.

Important Information for RRB NTPC CBTST Aspirants
- Candidates opting for Hindi typing should be familiar with Krutidev or Mangal fonts. Once selected, the typing language cannot be changed.
- PwBD candidates eligible for exemption from the typing test must upload a valid Typing Skill Test exemption certificate issued by the competent medical authority through the RRB grievance/helpdesk portal.
- The certificate upload window will remain open from 29 January to 11 February 2026 (till 7:00 PM).
- Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication will be conducted at the exam centre, and candidates must carry their original Aadhaar card on the exam day.

RRB NTPC UG CBTST Exam Pattern
The Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) will be conducted across three distinct stages to assess candidate proficiency.
- Typing Practice (1 Minute): Candidates will be given one minute to warm up and familiarise themselves with the keyboard.
- Break (5 Minutes): A short break will be provided before the actual test begins.
- Typing Skill Test (10 Minutes): This test will be evaluated for speed and accuracy.
Core Typing Requirements:
- At least 300 words in English, or
- At least 250 words in Hindi
RRB NTPC UG CBTST Typing Speed Requirement
Final typing speed will be evaluated in strict accordance with the standardized formula prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Boards.
Minimum Qualifying Typing Speed Standards
- English: 30 words per minute (WPM)
- Hindi: 25 words per minute (WPM)
Evaluation Criteria for Mistake Calculation
- Errors are classified as full mistakes and half mistakes
- Up to 5% mistakes of the total words typed are ignored
- Final mistakes are calculated as:
- Full mistakes + (Half mistakes ÷ 2)
