- Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed the Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
- Language Requirement: The applicant should possess proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the Bengali language. However, this requirement is waived for individuals who are permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. For applicants from the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, the regulations specified in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 shall apply.
