- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed or be in the final year of a UGC-specified Master’s degree in a subject offered in GSET.
- Minimum Marks: General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree. SEBC (Non-creamy layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates must have secured at least 50% marks.
- Final Year Candidates: Those awaiting their Master’s results can apply provisionally. They must pass their final exam with the required percentage within two years of the GSET result declaration.
- Subject: Candidates must apply for the subject of their Post-Graduation only.
- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for the GSET for the Assistant Professor eligibility.

- After a successful transaction, print the fee receipt and carefully note down your Order Number and Payment Reference ID. You will need these for Step 2.
Step 2: Online Form Submission
- Return to the GSET website and click on the link for Online Registration (Step 2).
- Use your Order Number and Payment Reference ID to log in to your account.
- Fill out the online application form with utmost care. You will need a scanned passport-sized photograph in JPEG format (less than 100 KB).
- Review all entered details like name, category, subject, exam centre, and photograph. No corrections will be allowed after final submission.
- After confirming all details, submit the form and take a printout of the final submitted application form. Preserve this printout along with your fee receipt.

Gujarat SET Syllabus

- The syllabus for all subjects, except Science subjects, is the same as the UGC NET syllabus.
- For Science subjects (Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Earth Sciences), the syllabus is the same as the CSIR NET syllabus. However, please note that the exam pattern will follow the UGC NET format as described below.

GSET 2025

To be eligible for GSET, candidates must hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university. A minimum of 55% marks is required for General candidates, while a relaxation to 50% applies to SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and Third Gender candidates.
Passing thresholds for the GSET are determined by category: General and EWS candidates must achieve a minimum of 40% aggregate marks across both papers. SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and Third Gender candidates must secure at least 35% aggregate marks in both papers combined to qualify.
