SBI Law Officer 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Review the required age limits, educational qualifications, and professional experience for these legal vacancies below:

Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification for both SBI Assistant Manager (Law) and Deputy Manager (Law) posts is uniform:

Mandatory Education: A Law degree (LLB) or an equivalent professional degree in Law from a recognized Indian university.

Preferred Qualification: Candidates holding a 5-year integrated law degree may receive preference during the selection process.

Experience Required

Professional experience must be acquired post-enrolment as an Advocate with the Bar Council. Please note that internships, academic teaching, and training periods do not count toward this experience requirement.

Assistant Manager (Law): Requires 2 years of post-qualification experience. 

  • A practicing Advocate enrolled with Bar Council, OR
  • A Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank, OR
  • A combination of both (total 2 years)

Deputy Manager (Law): Requires 4 years of post-qualification experience.

  • A practicing Advocate enrolled with Bar Council, OR
  • A Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank, OR
  • A combination of both (total 4 years)

Age Limit (As on 31/6/2026)

Age Relaxation Policy
