Job Profile & Key Responsibility Areas

The core functions for the SBI Trade Finance Officer position are as follows:

  1. Trade Finance Document Scrutiny:  Scrutiny of Letters of Credit, Collections, Bank Guarantees, etc., for compliance with Bank/RBI/ICC/FEDAI and other regulatory guidelines. Guidance to junior staff at CPCs and branch front offices.
  2. Transaction Processing: Processing of Trade Finance and Forex transactions at a centralized location on behalf of all branches, within benchmarked Turnaround Times (TAT).
  3. Reconciliation: Reconciliation of Trade Finance and Forex entries across the Bank’s Trade Finance, Forex, and CBS systems, including IDPMS/EDPMS.
  4. Any additional back-office operations related to International Business as directed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurate and timely processing of all Trade Finance/Forex transactions within TAT
  • Tracking maturities, payments, and customer reconciliation
  • Timely account/system reconciliation as per Bank norms
  • Adherence to all regulatory guidelines (RBI/ICC/FEDAI/Bank)
  • Participation in RCSA, BCOR, process reviews, and training activities
  • Timely submission and compliance with all Audit Reports
  • Execution of any additional tasks as directed by Team Leaders or Department/Branch Heads

Travel Reimbursement for Outstation Candidates

Candidates traveling from outstation locations for the interview may receive reimbursement for economy-class airfare (shortest route) up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000. Reimbursement is contingent upon the submission of original air tickets and boarding passes; local commute expenses remain non-reimbursable.
